Performance Opportunities

Conservatory students benefit from a vast array of performance opportunities in a standard school year. The Colburn Orchestra performs multiple times each year in halls around the LA area, including Walt Disney Concert Hall, and each concert features a student concerto soloist. Students collaborate with guest artists on the Colburn Chamber Music Society series, perform solo and chamber works during Performance Forum and Chamber Forum, and benefit from numerous other performance opportunities.

Financial Support for All Students

All students receive full scholarships and grants for tuition, room, and board. Conservatory students have the freedom to focus fully on their studies and graduate debt-free, ready to embark on professional careers.

World-Class Faculty

Applied study is at the heart of the performance mission of the С槼ֱ. All such study is done one-on-one with faculty members who themselves have been trained and have careers at the highest musical levels. Students benefit from a small student to faculty ratio and a student body of about 125. A Conservatory education also includes mock auditions with guest conductors, orchestral repertoire classes with LA Phil musicians, and in-depth, comprehensive academic classes.

Alumni Success

Colburn Conservatory students win major competitions and jobs in orchestras around the world, become college teachers, go on to graduate school at other top conservatories, and become Fulbright scholars.

State-of-the-Art Facilities in the Cultural Heart of Los Angeles

The С槼ֱ is located on Grand Avenue, amongst some of the most prestigious arts organizations in the country, including the LA Phil and the LA Opera. With three recital halls, numerous practice rooms, a wide range of high-end grand pianos, and recording/streaming capabilities in recital halls, Colburn’s facilities are the perfect place for aspiring artists to develop their craft.
